Below are my top 5 tips for weight loss, they aren’t the be all and end all but it’s a great place to start!
- Eat small regular meals – eating healthy portions of food every 2.5-3 hours will help boost your metabolism and keep your blood sugar levels regular throughout the day!
- Be consistent with your exercise – not everyone loves working out and you don’t have to run 10k’s a day. If you are new to exercising start off by walking 3-4 days a week once you’ve gotten into the habit of doing that make it harder for yourself add in weight training and more difficult cardio.
- Do a variety of training – if you are training at the same tempo day in day out you will find the weightloss will plateau and if all you are doing is running you will even find your muscle can waste away losing that toned appearance.

- Don’t weigh yourself every day or think about the size/shape you want to be instead think about why you want to be that weight, remembering why you want those results is more likely to motivate you to keep going rather than thinking about how far you have to go!
- Tell your friends and family what you are doing and ask for their support. Your sister/partner/best friend knows you best, they will be able to give you the encouragement you need to stick to it! They can train with you, help you prepare meals, stay alcohol free with you or even just send you a message mid-week checking in with how you are going. It’s amazing how much better we cope with change when there is ample support from loved ones.
